Children hospitalised after eating suspected cannabis sweets at Sheffield school

An investigation is underway after reports of children eating sweets that were suspected of containing cannabis at a Sheffield school.
Officers were called to Phillimore Community Primary School in Darnall on Tuesday.
Eight children were taken to hospital as a precaution and have since been discharged.
A Police spokesperson said:
"An investigation has been launched following reports of children ingesting sweets suspected of containing cannabis at a Sheffield school.
"On Tuesday 25 February, at 12.08pm we responded to reports of suspicious circumstances at Phillimore Community Primary School in Darnall.
"It is understood that children had consumed sweets suspected to contain cannabis.
"Eight children were taken to hospital as a precaution and have since been discharged.
"Our enquiries are on-going and anyone with information is asked to get in touch online, via live chat or by calling 101 quoting incident number 334 of 25 February 2025."
