Investigation after pensioner hit by electric bike in Sheffield
An investigation is underway after a pensioner was hit by an electric bike in Sheffield.
Police say they were called to Beighton on Monday, where they say an 83 year old was hurt.
A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed.
In a statement Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision in Sheffield in which a woman was injured.
"We were called to Drakehouse Lane in Beighton at 11.57am on Monday (19 May) following reports that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with an electric bike.
"An 83-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
"The rider of the bike, a 41-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving / riding and driving - unfit through drink / drugs. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
"Officers would now like to speak to anyone who saw what happened and are particularly keen to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage of the incident."
