People in South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire - who've had air con units fitted in their homes - tell us it's been a 'game changer' for them.
A new report suggests more people are looking at properties for sale - which come with air con installed & ready to use.
Pete McFarlane lives in Chesterfield - He had two units put in earlier this year - & says it's helped his family cope with the heatwaves over the summer:
"We've had it on every night since we had it installed.
"Obviously, hot air rises, so when you go up into your bedroom, it's red hot.
"It just makes it really difficult to sleep, so we got one fitted for our main bedroom & also our daughter's bedroom.
"It's been a complete game changer to be honest; it's definitely been worth the money.
"Every summer seems to be getting hotter.
"So, I think it will be worth its weight in gold.
"Every year, I think we'll have it on for at least 3 months.
"We're getting to that stage now in the UK where it's going to be pretty normal for new houses to be fitted with them.
"Obviously, there's a certain cost to install and run them, but it's something we need now.
"I can control the air con units on my phone through an app, so it's pretty ideal and convenient to operate.
"If you're looking at a couple of units like what we did, then aren't going to be getting it any less than £2,000.
"It's not a straightforward thing to fit, so it's whether you find value in that.
"With us being young and probably in the house for many years, we felt like it would be a worthwhile investment to the house."
Temperatures across South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire went up to around the mid 30's yesterday.
