A child has died after going into a pond at a South Yorkshire golf course yesterday.

South Yorkshire Police say they were called to reports of a missing person at the Owston Hall course in the Skellow area at 9:50am.

Drones and a police helicopter were used in the search, before the child was discovered in the water.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious and say the family are being supported by specialist officers.
