Further arrests made in a murder investigation in Doncaster

Further arrests have been made in a murder investigation in Doncaster. 57-year-old Wayne Solomon died after reports of a stabbing on June 24th.

A Police statement said:

"Further arrests have been arrested in connection to the murder of Wayne Solomon in Doncaster.

"On Wednesday 24 June, emergency services responded to Galsworthy Close following reports a man had been stabbed.

"The victim, 57-year-old Wayne Solomon was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time later.

"Following the death of Wayne, detectives arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of murder, possession of an offensive weapon, dangerous driving and robbery. He has since been released with no further action for murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and robbery and bailed for dangerous driving.

"As detectives have continued to work at pace to find those responsible, they have arrested a further two men on suspicion of murder and two women on suspicion of assisting an offender.

"On Thursday 25 June, a 51-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has since been released on police bail.

"On Friday 26 June officers arrested two men aged 52 and 24 on suspicion of murder, and a 45-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three suspects remain in police custody for questioning.

"As our inquiry continues, we are continuing to urge those who have any information that can assist detectives and officers to come forward and speak to us.

"Knife crime has a devastating effect in our communities, and we are committed to finding those responsible and securing justice for Wayne, his family and loved ones.

"If you have any information that can help, no matter how small or insignificant you believe it to be, please share it with us, it could be the missing piece that helps us remove dangerous offenders from the streets and saves another victim coming to harm."
