A 26-year-old man has denied possessing documents likely to be useful to a terrorist and will go on trial later this year.

Jack Coulson, formerly of Mexborough, South Yorkshire, appeared by videolink for a hearing at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday.

Coulson pleaded not guilty to two charges of possession of a document likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

These relate to the possession of a document, referred to as a US Army manual, which is alleged to have been found on a USB stick and a mobile phone.

Judge Tom Bayliss KC remanded Coulson in custody until his trial, at the same court, which will begin on November 16.

The trial is expected to last five days, the court heard.
