Politicians in South Yorkshire admit they're 'frustrated by the jeopardy' over the future of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

Recently - Reform Councillors in Doncaster announced plans to reverse approval for a 57- million-pound loan - to help re-open it.

Lee Pitcher is the Labour MP for Doncaster East & Isle of Axholme - He says the loan is 'crucial' in getting DSA back up & running:

"Everything has been kind of going to plan in the background.

"This is the frustrating bit for me, as we've got a plan in place for the investment - which has been independently looked at.

"We're just so close now, and we need to get it over the line.

"I am focussed on fighting for this airport and to help get it back open.

"We can get this airport back open by following the plan which's already in place.

"Let's work together and get it back open.

"We should be steely focused now it making this happen.

"Let's get those 5,000 jobs in place for people and raise the aspirations for people living in the area.

"We want that £5 billion gross value added to the local economy - it makes sense really.

"I'd be absolutely gutted if DSA didn't re-open.

"It means a lot to me as a local lad, and it means so much to our residents."

A meeting about the loan for DSA - which shut in 2022 - is due to take place next month.
