Doncaster man jailed for over three years for burglary
A Doncaster burglar has been jailed for over three years after stealing cash and luxury goods from flats in Sheffield and Manchester.
35 year-old Danny Burke’s offending was investigated after he was seen entering the victims' premises under the guise of performing routine maintenance work, posing as a maintenance contactor.
Burke, of Kestrel Drive, Doncaster burgled six flats on Hathersage Road in Manchester between 7 and 12 October 2025. On 17 October he burgled two flats on Hollis Croft in Sheffield.
He was sentenced to three years and eight months imprisonment at the same court.
Holly Kalicki, the officer in charge of the case, said: "Burglary is not just about the loss of items but also about the sense of security that is lost in someone's home.
"Burke took advantage of his role as a trusted maintenance worker to steal from those who believed their belongings to be safe.
"Our detectives and CSI teams moved at pace to gather evidence, identify the offender, and build a strong case and I am glad to see him jailed for years for his crimes.”
