Crash involving lorry closes major Barnsley route

Emergency services are at the scene of a collision in Barnsley.

They say it's involving an HGV and several cars in Oxspring.

Sheffield Road is closed at the moment.

A statement from South Yorkshie Fire and Rescue said:

"Firefighters are currently at a road traffic collision in Oxspring, Barnsley, involving an HGV and several cars.

"Sheffield Road is currently closed and will remain closed for a few hours.

"Please avoid the area and find an alternative route if possible."
