Over £1m of Class A drugs seized in Sheffield as five arrests made

Five arrests have been made after £1m worth of Class A drugs was seized during a series of raids in Sheffield.

Police search two vehicles on Westwood New Road and Halifax Road at around 7pm last night, finding a large quantity of illicit substances.

A further search was carried out on a home on St Albans Road, leading to more drugs being found along with three firearms.

Two men, aged 35 and 59, were arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug and possession of firearms offences.

A 55-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and possession of firearms offences.

Two men, aged 26 and 34 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

All remain in custody.
