Businesses across South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire admit they've had to 'roll with the punches' so far in 2025 - due to the ongoing cold snap.

It's meant profits haven't been as high for some because of reduced footfall.

James Pogson runs Northern Tea Merchants in Chesterfield - He's hoping the snow & ice thaws out soon:

"We've not had the passing trade because people aren't wanting to walk on the icy pavements.

"It has been quiet, and we've noticed it, and I think that has been felt throughout almost all of Chesterfield.

"December was a lot busier than this.

"It's been difficult just to get about in this weather. The pavements have been incredibly slippy.

"We should be resilient as businesses though, and hope that things pick back up.

"We're still here though and we aren't looking to shut anytime soon."

Highs of 2 degrees Celsius are expected in South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire today, while it could get as low as -5.
