18 year old dies in crash in Doncaster which left two others injured

An 18-year-old man has died after a car hit a tree in Carcroft, Doncaster, just after midnight this morning.

The crash happened just after 12:05am, with an orange Seat Leon colliding with the tree near the Chestnut Avenue junction with Langdale Road.

Emergency services including police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, and the Ambulance Service were called to the scene.

The young man was pronounced dead at the scene and his family is being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in critical condition.

A second passenger, a 21-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries.

Witnesses are being urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.
