A man has been charged in connection with the murder of Richard Dyson, a Barnsley man who was reported missing in November 2019.

Karl Schwalbe, 72, of Dike Hill in Rotherham, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Schwalbe has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Barnsley Magistrates Court.

Richard Dyson was 55 at the time of his disappearance almost seven years ago.

Last July, human remains discovered at a location on Broadcarr Road were confirmed to belong to Richard.

A post-mortem examination determined that the cause of death was shotgun wounds.

Last year another man, aged 72, was charged with Richard's murder.

Police are urging anyone with information related to Richard's death to get in touch on 101.
