Appeal for information after collision leaves woman with broken neck in Barnsley

An investigation is getting underway after a woman was left with a broken neck in Barnsley.
Police say she was hit by a motorcycle on Peel Parade in Barnsley Town Centre.
The rider of the motorcycle left the scene.
The woman, who's in her 20s, suffered a broken neck.
Police are now keen to hear from anyone to try and identify the rider.
A Police statement said: "We are appealing for the identity of a motorcyclist following a road traffic collision in Barnsley that left a woman with a broken neck.
"On 20 September, just after midnight, emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a pedestrian on Peel Parade in Barnsley Town Centre.
"It is understood that a motorcyclist collided with a woman who was walking along the road.
"The rider of the motorcycle did not remain at the scene and fled prior to officers’ arrival.
"The woman, aged in her 20s, suffered a broken neck and was taken to hospital.
"We are also keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or may have footage of the collision, or motorcyclists in the area at the time that can help us progress our inquiry.
