Two rescued after car plunges into canal in Neath

Two people have been recued from inside a car that had become submerged in a canal in Neath.

Fire and rescue crews from Swansea Central, Neath, and Pontardawe stations were alerted at 10.48am to the situation involving two people trapped inside the submerged vehicle, off Riverside Drive .

A specialist wading team was deployed to rescue the individuals from the car, who were then assessed by personnel from the Ambulance Service.

The incident was resolved within half an hour, with the crews leaving the scene at 11.18am.
