Motorcyclist dies in Hafodyrynys collision

Police seeking witnesses following bank holiday crash on the A472

A 44-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision in Caerphilly county.

The collision occurred on the A472 Hafodyrynys at around 2.35pm yesterday.

Police and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service attended the scene, but the motorbike rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.

Police officers investigating the incident are urging motorists who were on the A472 at the time and witnessed the accident to come forward.

They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was travelling between 2pm and 2.40pm on Monday, or anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage.
