Brown water floods homes near Cardiff after residents report hearing 'explosion from nearby quarry'
Water can be seen pouring into people's homes, while roads are also flooded

Residents of Gwaelod-y-Garth, a village near Cardiff, have reported a massive explosion believed to have originated from a nearby quarry, resulting in brown water flooding their homes.
Images shared online show dark water flowing through patio doors with some gardens submerged halfway up their fences.
The fire service are at the scene and the quarry say they're aware of an incident at their site.
Alex Barros-Curtis, MP for Cardiff West, tweeted, ‘My thoughts are with everyone affected by the flooding in Gwaelod-y-Garth this afternoon. Thank you to our emergency services for their swift response. Please avoid the area and follow official advice while the incident is ongoing. I'm in contact with the relevant authorities and will continue to monitor the situation closely.’
