Police appeal for witnesses after driver fails to stop

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fail to stop collision that left a 13-year-old girl seriously injured in Whiteley.

The incident occurred at 7.47am on 14th January when the girl was crossing Glassfield Road. She was struck by a white Volkswagen Crafter van, which did not stop at the scene.

The teenager was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains under medical care.

Police investigation

As part of their enquiries, officers have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of failing to stop, drug driving, and causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention.

He has been released but remains under investigation while police continue to gather evidence.

Appeal for witnesses

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has information to assist their investigation to come forward. They are particularly keen to receive any dashcam footage or CCTV from the surrounding areas.
