A man from West Sussex has died following a crash on a busy A-road in Dorset on Saturday night (February 22nd).

Dorset Police said the collision, which involved a white Peugeot 308, happened on the Ameysford Roundabout along the A31 in Ferndown at around 8.45pm.

The 43-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said his family has been informed and is being supported by specially-trained officers.

Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Dorset Roads Policing Team, said:

"Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man at this difficult time and we have specially trained officers supporting them.

"This incident occurred on a very busy stretch of the A31 and I understand there were a number of motorists in the area who may have seen what happened.

"I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

"Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have captured any dashcam footage to contact us."
