Man arrested in connection with two assaults in Poole

Dorset Police say a man has been arrested in connection with reports that two people were assaulted in Poole.

In a statement, officers said: "It was reported that at around 8.30pm on Wednesday 7 May 2025 an altercation occurred at the Turlin Moor Recreation Ground, during which a 14-year-old boy was assaulted and sustained minor injuries.

"It was further reported that between 9pm and 10pm a man aged in his 50s was also assaulted at the location and that he sustained serious facial injuries.

"Following enquiries by detectives from BCP CID, an 18-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place. He has been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.

"Detectives are continuing to urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to come forward.
