Libraries on the Isle of Wight are preparing to put on a programme of events this half-term to keep children entertained during the school holiday.

There'll be storytelling and craft sessions on offer - with tiger masks being made at the library in Newport and a monster-making workshop at Cowes Library.

Ryde Library will kick off the programme with a special story time and craft session led by children’s author Lizzie Boynton.

Louise Emery, development librarian, said: “Our libraries are at the heart of the community and we’re delighted to be offering such a wide range of free activities this half term.

"There really is something for everyone, whether children enjoy stories, crafts or just the chance to get creative, and we’d encourage families to come along and get involved.”
