Hampshire drivers reminded to check cars before travelling this 'Frantic Friday'
Drivers heading out on Hampshire's roads this bank holiday are being reminded to check their cars before they travel this 'Frantic Friday'.
The AA says more than twenty million drivers are expected across the county, and any breakdowns could cause long delays.
Gareth Jones from the AA says making sure your car is ready could help countless other road users.
He said: "It can take longer for us to get to you and therefore we'd like it if people would take some precautions not to have those break downs.
"What we say is take 10 minutes to check over your vehicle and check basic things that you can sort out.
"Do a 10 minute check of your vehicle to make sure everything's working, and if it's not, then get it sorted before you set off.
"If you're the person causing the breakdown and there's queues on the side of the road, you aren't going to be popular, but equally, you're not going to get to where you want to either."
The AA says when doing checks to remember the acronym, FLOWER, which stands for fuel, lights, oil, water, electric and rubber.
