Five people charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Southampton

A 45-year-old man sustained serious injuries

Five people have been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in St Mary’s, Southampton, that left a 45-year-old man with stab wounds to his legs.

The incident happened shortly after 8.45pm on Sunday (14th December) on St Mary Street.

The victim, from Southampton, sustained serious injuries but is reported to be in a stable condition as they are not considered life-threatening.

Details of those charged

Following a police investigation, the following individuals have been charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, and criminal damage:

Sheraz Ahmadzai, 24, of no fixed abode

Irfan Ahmedzai, 19, of Kent Street, Southampton

A 17-year-old boy from Southampton

A 16-year-old boy from Southampton

A 15-year-old boy from Southampton, who has also been charged with possession of a bladed article

Each of the accused has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today. (18th December)
