Detailed enquiries continue after reported rape in Bournemouth
It follows an incident, reportedly which happened in a public toilet over the weekend
Dorset Police have issued a further update after a reported rape over the weekend in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police received a report at 1.57am on Sunday 6 July 2025 that a woman aged in her late teens was reportedly raped in a public toilet situated in Undercliff Drive.
Officers attended and a 31-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of rape. He has now been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, of the Dorset Police Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), said: “We have been continuing to carry out detailed enquiries into this incident.
“We are appealing for members of the public who were in Undercliff Drive between Bournemouth Pier and the East Cliff Zig Zag path between 1am and 1.20am on Sunday 6 July 2025 to please come forward. This is to establish if they can assist us with our ongoing investigation.
“We are continuing to support and update the victim, and local officers have been conducting increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.”
