Three men arrested as police investigate Cowes house fire where man died
Police continue enquiries after fatal fire in Cowes
Police investigating a fatal fire in Cowes have arrested three additional men in connection with the incident.
Emergency services were called to Ronsons Close in Cowes at 3.32am on Friday 26th June following reports of a fire.
A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene by attending officers from Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Isle of Wight Ambulance.
While the man’s formal identification hasn't yet taken place, next of kin have been told and are being supported by specialist officers.
Arrests and Investigation
In a significant development, three men from Cowes were arrested on the evening of 27th June.
Two 24-year-old men and a 59-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
They currently remain in police custody as the investigation unfolds.
A 28-year-old man from Ventnor had previously been arrested on Friday on similar charges, including possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was released on bail with conditions until 27th September to facilitate further enquiries.
