Climber dies in incident at Swanage

A climber's died following an incident at Anvil Point near Swanage.

Emergency services were called out just after midday yesterday (Thursday 15th May), to reports of a climber in need of medical support.

Dorset Police, South Western Ambulance, the RNLI and Swanage Coastguard attended.

A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene, with the incident not being treated as suspicious.

The climber's next of kin have been informed.

A statement from Dorset Police concludes: "Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this very difficult time."
