A woman has been hospitalised after she was hit by a car in Wolverhampton on Saturday night (20th December).

Emergency services were called to Goldthorn Hill at the junction of Fowler Street to reports that a pedestrian had been hit on the pavement.

Officers say the driver fled and was last seen running down Upper Villiers Street.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, is currently in hospital in a stable condition.

Officers are still searching for the driver of the car, a red Seat Ibiza, and are urging anyone with information to contact them by calling 101 and quoting log 4373 of 20 December.
