A Walsall man has been charged after officers found an imitation firearm and two axes in the boot of the car he was driving.

Officers followed a car in Cannock last night (15th January) that they believed was linked to criminal activity.

When the car stopped, officers searched the boot and found the weapons.

The driver also failed a roadside drugs test.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and drug driving.
