Men held on suspicion of murder after 55-year-old found with head injuries on Wednesbury Road
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 55-year-old man died following an assault in Walsall.
The man was discovered with head injuries on Wednesbury Road during the early hours of Saturday, 11th October.
He was treated in hospital and later returned home but fell ill again on Thursday, 16th October.
He was taken back to hospital, where he died later that evening.
Police say their thoughts and support are with the man’s loved ones.
Officers believe the man was assaulted on 11th October, though the exact cause of death is still being established.
Earlier today, two men, aged 18 and 28, were detained on suspicion of murder and remain in custody for questioning.
Appeal for information
Enquiries are continuing in and around Wednesbury Road, and detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation.
Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage.
