Two arrested after Telford assault

Two people have been arrested, after a man was assaulted in Telford.

A man, aged 54, was arrested yesterday morning (Sunday 18 January), on suspicion of grevious bodily harm and remains in custody.

A woman, aged 35, was arrested on Saturday (17 January), on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grevious bodily harm and has since been released on police bail.

An investigation was launched after a man, aged in his 40s, was attacked with a bladed article in Crudington.

It happened at around 5.50pm on Friday (16 January), as the victim was driving along the B5062 close to Crugtone Way. As the victim pulled over, he was approached by another man, who had been driving a dark coloured vehicle.

The suspect opened the victim’s car door where he then assaulted the victim which a bladed article. The victim was later taken to hospital for further treatment.

Detective Inspector Matt Keeble said: “Thank you to everyone who has assisted with our investigations, which has now led to two people being arrested in connection with the attack. Our investigation remains very much ongoing, and we are continuing with our enquiries.

“We would continue to urge anyone who witnessed the assault, or who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the vehicle involved, to come forward and speak with us.”
