Two arrested after man stabbed in Telford

Both remain in police custody while enquiries continue

Police have arrested two people following a stabbing in Telford on Saturday evening (8 November).

At around 8:30pm, officers were called to reports of an assault at a playing field on Wellington Road.

When emergency services arrived, they found a 20-year-old man who had suffered stab wounds.

He was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment.

The force have since arrested an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder.

Both remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help the investigation to come forward.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this serious assault and are urging anyone who saw what happened, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to get in touch.”
