Fresh tributes laid in Wolverhampton for One Direction star 'Liam Payne'

Fresh tributes have been laid in Wolverhampton, to mark one year since the death of One Direction star 'Liam Payne'.
The singer, born in Heath Town, died when he fell from a hotel balcony in Argentina.

At 31-years-old, Liam Payne lost his life whilst on holiday in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16th 2024.
Tributes poured in from across the world, including fans, his family and former One Direction bandmates.
In February this year (2025), The Grammys paid tribute to Liam with a video montage (below).
Liam Payne was born on 29th August 1993, in Heath Town to parents Karen and Geoff Payne. He went to St Peter's Collegiate School.
They told us: "Liam was not only well-liked by his peers and teachers but also recognised for his talents.
"He made a positive impact on our school community, and his contributions will be remembered," they said.

At the age of 12, he was part of the Pink Productions Theatre Company. He finished his studies at Wolverhampton College.
Liam kicked off his career as a contestant on The X Factor, where he rose to stardom as part of one of the biggest boy bands 'One Direction, at the age of 16.
After his death, tributes flooded in from across the Black Country. A year on, fresh flowers and tributes are being laid at the bandstand in West Park.
'I miss you'
One message read: "This is the first year without you, 365 days and counting where we no longer see a story, a new video, no news about what you are doing and where you are going.
"I love you, I miss you, I admire you, I keep waiting for you."
Another said: "There is not a day that passes where my heart does not reach for you, aching with feelings that have nowhere to go."
