Man charged with over 20 shop thefts in Tipton

Thomas Stanford, a 46-year-old man with no fixed address, has been charged with 21 counts of shop theft after reportedly targeting stores in Tipton.

Stanford appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court and is scheduled for his next court appearance in August.

The charges relate to thefts involving hundreds of pounds worth of items stolen from four stores between 2nd July and 9th July.

Sandwell North's retail crime team is actively focused on combating prolific retail offenders, aiming to uphold safety and justice in the region.

The team patrols hotspot areas and collaborates with retailers and partners to safeguard Sandwell.
