"Telford ticks every box" for it's own Monopoly board according to game maker
The town is getting it's own version of the classic board game

Telford is set to have it's very own Monopoly board with the game makers looking for ideas about what landmarks should feature on the popular board game.
Winning Moves has decided to make the board game to celebrate Monopoly's 90th birthday.
Telford has beaten ten other cities including Gloucester, Sheffield and Norwich.
Why was Telford picked to have it's own Monopoly board?
The game makers said they chose Shropshire's largest town because of it's 'Sense of Family', 'Civic Pride' and 'Loved Landmarks'.
Now that the board game's location has been decided, the public are required to send in suggestions for landmarks and organisations to be featured in the game.
What spots in Telford will feature on the Monopoly Board?
Winning Moves told us that the following areas were faring well in the poll:
- The Iron Bridge: this is favourite to go on the 'Mayfair' square, which is the highest ranking space on the board. The Iron Bridge, which crosses the River Severn, was the first major bridge to be made from cast iron.
- Town Park: this is being voted for one of the green spaces on the board. Other green landmarks are expected on this spot too.
- Telford Statue: The statue of Thomas Telford is a tourist magnet for visitors and has been a meeting point for generations.
The game makers want nominations for spaces on the board game to continue being suggested.
The deadline for suggestions is 23:59 February 19th 2025.
