Man and teenager charged after wheelie bin thrown hit officers in Telford

The pair are accused of offences including criminal damage and recklessly endangering life

A man and a teenager have been charged after a wheelie bin was thrown from a footbridge in Telford, injuring two police officers in a vehicle.

Officers say bins were thrown from the bridge near the Wombridge Interchange on to the A442.

20-year-old Daniel Hodnett and a 17-year-old boy who can't be named for legal reasons have been charged with:

  • Criminal damage - recklessly endangering life
  • Causing danger to road users
  • Two counts of criminal damage to property valued under £5000
  • Five counts of theft

They're on bail, due to appear at Telford Magistrates' on 13th February.
