Telford Balloon Festival lifts off at Telford Town Park
The event begins with Night Glow on Friday night, and ends on Sunday
The Telford Balloon Fiesta returns today (Friday 22nd August), with a weekend of colourful hot air balloon displays, live music and family activities at Telford Town Park.
The annual event runs until Sunday and will see more than 20 hot air balloons take to the skies alongside a packed programme of entertainment.
Visitors can enjoy arena performances, funfair rides and food stalls throughout the day, while the evenings will feature the popular Night Glow event, where balloons light up in time to music.
Sue Wright, from Telford and Wrekin Council said: "I'm so excited, this is one of my favourite events.
"It's a chance for families to come together and the atmosphere's amazing."
She said the festival has grown hugely over the last nine years, with it getting increasingly popular each year.
Organisers say the Fiesta has become one of Telford’s biggest free family events, drawing thousands of people to the town park each year.
The event runs from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August at Telford Town Park. Entry is free, but visitors are advised to plan ahead as the event is expected to be very busy.
