A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in Wolverhampton after dozens of wraps of Class A drugs and a zombie knife was found by police officers.

The incident occurred yesterday as the Guardian Taskforce, tasked with ensuring safe city environments, was patrolling Wolverhampton city centre.

The officers saw a boy acting suspiciously near Townwell Fold and conducted a stop and search.

During the search, over 40 wraps of Class A drugs were found, leading to his arrest on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Following his arrest, police conducted further searches at the boy’s home, uncovering a zombie knife, additional Class A drugs, cash, and scales commonly used for drug dealing.

The boy has been referred to the Youth Offending Service for further action.

As part of their #SaferTownsSummer initiative, police are collaborating with partners to enhance safety in town centres and shopping areas.

The initiative includes visible reassurance patrols and enforcement activities in hotspot locations.
