West Midlands Police have confirmed they will be using Section 60 powers in the Heath Town area, following a serious assault yesterday (14 May).

Section 60 powers allow officers to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.

It comes after the force were called to reports of disorder off Wolverhampton Road in Heath Town.

Officers say two men received stab wounds and were taken to hospital.

A 17-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

They remain in custody for questioning.
