Shropshire pub gives out free Christmas dinners to those in need
It's to show the landlords' daughter not everyone is as lucky as her.
A Shropshire pub landlord's giving out free Christmas dinners to show his three year-old daughter not everyone is as lucky as her.
The New Inn in Newport will cook and deliver 30 lunches to those in need today - so they can be heated up tomorrow.
Landlord Matthew Moulson tells us more about the initiative.
"We became aware of people who might be struggling to cook a Christmas meal, either because they're on their own or because they can't afford it - or maybe because of disability.
"So we thought we could easily just cook a few extra meals and deliver them on Christmas Eve ready to roll and they can re-heat them on Christmas day."
He tells us how he thinks it will make a difference to people.
"We love a Christmas dinner - it's the best part of Christmas I think.
"That's what makes Christmas - everybody sits down together. Present are neither here nor there."
Matthew tells us why he wants his daughter Mabel to be part of the scheme.
"She's very well looked after and spoilt by her friends and family, but we want her to know not everybody can have the things she has."
"We go to shops and see trees that have tags on them for children in children's homes. Mabel will pick the tag and then choose the presents to send to the children to teach her not to be selfish."
