Shropshire man arrested for rape in Liverpool hotel

A man from Shropshire has been arrested this morning (4 August), following an allegation of rape at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool.
At approximately 8am, officers were called to the hotel after reports that a woman had been raped inside the premises.
The woman is being supported by specially trained officers.
A 49-year-old man from Shropshire was arrested on suspicion of the crime and remains in police custody for questioning.
Merseyside Police urge anyone who has experienced sexual assault or rape to come forward. Specialist support services are available for victims, free of charge, regardless of whether a report is made to the police.
