Second boy charged over teen's murder in Wolverhampton

Police have charged a second boy with the murder of Harleigh Hepworth who was fatally stabbed in Wolverhampton’s West Park last Thursday (7 March).

The 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons will appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.

A 16-year-old also charged with murder appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates court yesterday and was remanded until his next court appearance.

Detective Inspector Ade George, from the Homicide unit, said: ā€œOur thoughts remain with the family and friends of Harleigh.

ā€œWe have now charged two people over Harleigh’s death but our enquiries are continuing.

ā€œExtra patrols in the area will continue to provide reassurance to the community and support everyone effected.ā€
