Robbery investigation leads police to cannabis growing operation

Over 100 cannabis plants were found when police searched a property as part of a burglary investigation.

Police have arrested four people after a burglary investigation led officers to uncover a cannabis cultivation containing more than 100 plants.

Officers had originally launched an investigation after a burglary at Worfield Golf Club, near Bridgnorth, which was reported last Sunday.

Following enquiries, police identified and arrested three suspects. Then on Tuesday the 15th of July, as part of the investigation, officers carried out a search at an associated address.

During the search, officers discovered more than a 100 cannabis plants.

A 47-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 51-year-old man were all arrested on suspicion of burglary and cultivation of cannabis. A 46-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

All four have been bailed while police continue their enquiries.
