West Midlands police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted on Monday (27th October) in a racially aggravated attack in Wolverhampton.

The victim, a woman in her 50s, was reportedly assaulted by a group of men in their 20s on Waddens Brook Lane.

They attempted to hit her with what's thought to be a metal bar and stunned her with an electrical stun gun.

Detectives are still working to find the men.

A West Midlands police spokesperson said, "We are appealing for information after a woman in her 50s was the victim of a racially aggravated assault in Wolverhampton.

"The woman was assaulted by a group of between four and five men aged in their 20s, on Waddens Brook Lane, on Monday (27 October), at around 6.30pm.

"The men, who were all wearing dark clothing with their hoods up, made attempts to hit her with a weapon like a metal bar.

"A handheld electrical stun device was used in the assault. She sustained pain to her neck and shoulders.

"At least one of the offenders was described as white."

Police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward and contact them on 101 quoting crime reference number 20/425344/25.
