Police appeal for information one month on from alleged rape in Telford
A woman reported being attacked in a wooded area on the morning of Christmas Eve
Police are continuing their investigation into the rape of a woman on Christmas Eve in Telford, as they appeal for information one month on from the alleged attack.
The incident, reported to police on Monday 19th January 2026, took place on Wednesday 24th December 2025 between 9.45am and 11.25am in a wooded area near Beech Road in Ironbridge,
Detectives are looking to identify the suspect who is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 10in tall, with short dark hair. He was reportedly wearing dark jeans and a black coat at the time.
Increased police presence as enquiries continue
Residents around Beech Road are expected to see an increased police presence today, 24th January, with officers carrying out door-to-door enquiries and foot patrols.
Detective Inspector Danielle Logan made a fresh appeal for any information relating to the case.
“Today marks a month since the attack, and we are continuing to appeal to the public for any information," Logan said.
“If you were in the area on Christmas Eve and witnessed anything, or saw anyone acting suspiciously, please speak to officers or contact police, no matter how insignificant you believe your information may be.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.
“Enquiries show that the forest area where the attack happened leads to Beech Road, as well as Woodside Avenue and Newcomen Way.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in those areas or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.
"Officers are working hard to identify the suspect, and we ask anyone who was in the area on Christmas Eve between 9.45am and 11.25am, or who may know who the suspect is, to contact police immediately."
