Man jailed over knife attack in West Bromwich
The victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a number of wounds
West Midlands Police have confirmed an armed attacker who stabbed another man multiple times in a West Bromwich street has been jailed.
Chadney Ferguson fled after causing significant injuries to another man in Lahmber Way on 9 May last year.
The victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a number of wounds which were thankfully not life-threatening.
The 28-year-old was charged in connection with the incident, and also threatening to hurt a woman while carrying a brick in Walsall Road, Stone Cross, the previous month.
Ferguson, of Park Lane East, Tipton, pleaded guilty to offences of wounding with intent, threats with a bladed article and threats with an offensive weapon.
He was jailed for seven years and seven months - with an extended licence period of three years - at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
PC Benjamin Darlington, from Sandwell CID, said: “Ferguson showed extreme levels of violence which will not be tolerated on the streets of West Bromwich.
"This was traumatic for the victims and it's through their support we were able to secure these convictions. We hope this will bring some closure for them.
"We've managed to ensure a dangerous man has been taken off the streets and this sentence should reassure our communities that violence will lead to jail terms."
