Man and dog die in Tipton house fire

A man in his 80's has died alongside a dog in a house fire in Sandwell.

Fire crews were called to a dormer bungalow on Elizabeth Walk in Tipton shortly before half six yesterday morning (30 March).

At its height about 50 firefighters tackled the blaze, which had damaged the ground floor and upper areas of the property.

An investigation into the circumstances and cause of the fire is ongoing.
