Man arrested in connection with murders of two men in Wolverhampton
A second man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender
A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murders of Duaine Mills and Syed Zain Ali, who died in Wolverhampton following a shooting in September.
The shooting took place on Leicester Street at around 3:10am on 19th September, leaving 28-year-old Duaine Mills and 32-year-old Syed Zain Ali dead.
The arrest was made in Birmingham earlier today, 20th November, just after 10am. A second man, aged 34, was also arrested at the same time on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both men remain in police custody.
Senior investigating officer Jenny Birch called the arrests a "significant development" and noted that the families of the victims have been informed.
“These arrests are a significant development in our investigation, and the families of Duaine and Syed have been updated.
Our thoughts remain with them at this time, and we will continue to support them.”
West Midlands Police continue to urge anyone who may have information to come forward and assist with their inquiries.
Anyone who saw or heard anything connected to the murders has been asked to contact police on 101, quoting log 358 of 19th September.
