Armed police have arrested a man after an incident at McGhie Street in Hednesford.

They were called to the scene at around 2.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 3rd June) to reports of threats being made with a firearm.

The road was temporarily closed and a nearby school put into lockdown.

A man aged 20 - from Cannock - was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He remains in custody after an imitation firearm, cannabis and drug paraphernalia were found at the scene.
