Man arrested after knife found in Brierley Hill
Officers also linked him to a string of burglaries and shop thefts
A man has been arrested after being found with a knife in Brierley Hill.
Response officers in Dudley were alerted to a man in possession of a knife on Pearson Street shortly before 5.35pm on Tuesday 18th August.
Following a search, they found a knife.
Police said further enquiries showed the man was also wanted in relation to multiple burglary offences.
A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, four counts of burglary and two counts of theft from a shop.
He remains in custody for questioning.
The arrest comes as officers step up their presence in town centres and shopping areas over the summer.
Police said there would be visible reassurance patrols and enforcement activity in hotspot areas, with local officers on hand to listen to any concerns.
