Police in Walsall have launched an investigation, after a boy was stabbed and a man found with a head injury in two separate incidents.

A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the arm near Park Street at around 4.15pm yesterday (23 June).

The force confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening.

Then at just before 6.30pm, officers were alerted to another disorder where weapons were brandished in Park Street.

A man in his 20s was discovered with a head injury, which was again not life-threatening.

Police say it's unclear at this stage whether these are connected and investigations are ongoing.

The force had Section 60 powers in place until 7am this morning (24 June).

It allowed them to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.
